17 May 2012, Novotel Hotel, Broad Street, Birmingham
The conference has been designed by the SFCF’s national Information Systems Network to provide MIS Managers and IS staff with the essential information they require in manageable bite size sessions.
The morning session will focus on keynote addresses from Colin Stronach, EFA on the developments & outlook for 16-19 funding from 2012/13 onwards. John Perks, the Information authority will update delegates on the authority’s work to support the funding agencies’ simplification agendas for 2013/14 and to reduce the bureaucracy associated with ILR data collection. The final keynote address of the morning session will be provided by JISC Legal on data protection issues in relation to cloud technology.
Following the success of last year’s IS Conference; we will be hosting our popular ‘show and tell’ session in the afternoon. This session is intended to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experiences with the goal that all those attending will be inspired and motivated to put new ideas into practice following the event! We have arranged for Sixth Form Colleges to discuss and provide tips and advice on the following areas:
- From Outlook to Gmail
- Google Apps for Business
- Live@Ed
- Whole School Project in Google Docs
- A joint MLE project between 2 Sixth Form Colleges
Andrew Thomson from JQC will provide delegates with an update on the A2C project with the final keynote address by JANET on Janet services, network plans and Janet brokerage.
Location: Novotel Hotel, Broad Street, Birmingham
